Postponed deadline for identification of Beneficial Owner

The Ministry of Finance informed about postponement of deadline to register to CRBR (Central Register of Beneficial Owners).

Since 13th October 2019 all companies and partnerships (except the limited liability partnership “spółka partnerska”) are required to register in the CRBR. According to the AML Act, a newly established company has 7 days to fulfil that duty, other companies had 6 months since the date of CRBR launch. This means that the deadline for registering the Beneficial owner is 13th April 2020.

However, current situation somewhat forced changes in the legislation. The so-called “Anti-Crisis Shield” Act, which came into force on 31st March 2020, includes a regulation to postpone the deadline for notification to the CRBR until 13th July 2020. Thus, companies will have three additional months to comply with this obligation.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Finance, this is to reduce the current logistical and financial burdens.
